Rufus James

After completion of a Drama degree and formative years backpacking around the world and working in the French Alps, Rufus was forced by lack of funds to settle down and embarked on a lifelong love-affair with EFL teaching.

She has achieved many white hairs and hysterical laugh lines with the help of the DELTA and has a certificate in Counselling Skills, International Test Preparation and a plethora of TESOL certificates. Currently Academic Manager in Brisbane at English Unlimited, she has had a wide and varied career in EFL, teaching refugees, international students and trainee teachers in England, Pakistan and Australia.

Recently Rufus gave a workshop to over 80 delegates at the international language conference, CamTESOL in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and wrote the English Unlimited curriculum for Cambridge University Press. Travelling is her passion, and she has had adventures in over 15 countries including Turkey, Morocco, Tunisia, Vietnam, Thailand, Poland and Russia. She is currently watching Game of Thrones and reading War and Peace… which are not as incompatible as they might appear. Most of her blogs were written with the help of the Stone Roses on her iPod and a glass of French wine within easy reach…
