Global callers want ‘accent neutralization’

This week’s news item, adapted for MEC from a news article originally published in the Guardian Weekly, is about the growing popularity of a ‘neutral’ global English accent in Indian call centres. Employees are taught to ‘neutralize’ their English by removing any traces of an Indian accent.
