After an idyllic childhood in rural East Yorkshire, I studied English Literature and History of Art at the University of Edinburgh. I moved to London to do an MA at the Courtauld Institute of Art but spent most of my time doing part-time work in publishing. I started as an editorial assistant at Routledge before becoming Commissioning Editor for Linguistics at Continuum, an independent academic publisher. I joined MEC and did my CELTA in 2007, becoming Publisher in 2011.
When I’m not commissioning new digital resources I like trying to make simple projects on my new sewing machine, which has far more gadgets than I will ever need. I’m also a big fan of evening courses and always seem to be studying something, whether it’s archaeology, languages or fashion. I love travelling for MEC and have visited schools in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Germany and Italy.
