I grew up in London but escaped up north to university, where I studied at the university of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. After a fabulous three years living as a surrogate Geordie, and armed with my degree in Linguistics, I embarked on the obligatory round-the-world gap year, which actually turned into two years of living and working in Australia. Coming back to London in search of something a little more meaningful, I was delighted to find that I could make a living out of being a language geek. Five years and a CELTA later, I’m now Commissioning Editor for Macmillan’s fabulous teacher resource site, onestopenglish.
On the weekends you’ll often find me running (or walking) around the commons of sunny south London (it’s always sunny in south London), tucked up on the sofa with my nose in a good book, going for a cup of tea and a jam tart at my Grandma’s house or enjoying a nice pint in a good pub with friends.
