It can sometimes be tricky to find videos that are interesting to our teenage students. The problem is finding videos that are relevant to the students’ problems in real life. Lonelygirl15 became a massive hit on Youtube within months. The show is made of video clips where a girl talks about her every day problems and issues. The clips are short and you can download them. The big advantage of the clips is the fact that the people in them are lifelike and they use real English.

How to include Lonelygirl15 in your lessons:

Play part of the video and let students predict what is going to happen next in the story.

Students watch a couple of the clips and prepare profiles of the characters.

Create comprehensive questions.

Compare the problems in the clip with the problems that your teenagers have.

Set up a discussion where students come up with solutions to the problems in the clips.
